Frequently Asked Questions

We think you’ll find most of your questions answered below but if you have any further questions please fill out the form below.

How much does it cost?

All our ceramics are individually priced, starting from $6 for a small item like a pendant, $15 for medium plates and bowls and larger items up to $45. CMP also charges a $9 glazing and firing fee PER painter per day. The fee covers the cost of the paints, stickers, sponges, brushes and glaze and firing of your pieces. We only charge for the painter so a supervising adult will be free.

Do I need to make a booking?

You are very welcome to drop in, however, to avoid disappointment especially during busy school holidays and weekends, we strongly recommend you make a booking.  Check our opening hours and contact us if you would like to schedule an after-hours get together.

What ages are suitable for children to paint

Children under the age of 6 will most likely need to be assisted by their parent or guardian. It’s a great activity to share with the little ones so make sure you book yourself a seat too.

Will my ceramic piece be food safe?

Your ceramic piece will be perfectly food safe and suitable for everyday use.

Will my piece be dishwasher safe

In order to maintain the shine of the glaze, we suggest hand washing your pieces.

Can I put my pieces in the microwave?

We do not recommend putting your pottery pieces in the microwave.

Are you open in the evening?

We run evening classes throughout the year. Check out our Calendar page for more details.  You might like to book a group table and bring some nibbles and BYO drinks.  It’s a great way relax and catch up with friends and family.

When will my pottery be ready for collection?

Your masterpiece will be ready for you to collect one week after you leave it with us, or unless told otherwise.

Do you run birthday parties?

Absolutely!  Click on the Kids Birthday Parties link for more details. We also offer bridal & baby showers, anniversary get-togethers corporate events and many other important get togethers and milestones.

Can I leave my child unsupervised?

Only children between the ages of 13 and over are allowed to be unsupervised and only with prior arrangement with the management.

What do I need to wear?

Whilst our paints are water based and non-toxic we recommend you wear old clothes or bring an apron.

What do I need to bring?

We provide everything from paints, brushes, stickers, stencils, stamps and a host of techniques. Our friendly team are always on hand for any additional advice you need.

Do I need to have artistic skills?

No prior artistic experience is necessary. Just come with your imagination and together we will help you create your unique masterpiece.

Do I need to book for hand and footprints?

To get that perfect hand or footprint you need a couple of spare hands and it is recommended that you book one day in advance. Please note that during busy school holidays we regret that we may be unable to assist with baby prints.
